The Team who is on the field fielding.
The playing area.
A Home Run.
A hit of the ball allowing the batter to run to second base.
Two games played consecutively by the same teams.
A defensive play which causes two base runners to be put out of the game.
Where players sit when they are not on the playing field.
A straight pitch thrown extremely hard by the Pitcher.
The fielder is one of the 9 players on the field. There are generally 3 Fielders – the Left Fielder, Right Fielder, and Centre Fielder.
The defensive player who fields around the area of first base and is responsible for plays around that area.
When a batted ball goes high in the air.
This is a play which causes a runner on base to be called out of the game. The runner is forced to advance to the next base because another runner behind him is also advancing.
A batted ball that lands outside the 1st or 3rd base foul territories.
Part of the playing field outside the 1st and 3rd base lines going out towards the outfield fence and perpendicularly upwards.
The Coach normally gives the Green Light to either a Batter to hit a good Pitch or to a runner to consider stealing a base.
A ball which is hit by the batter in the infield and rolls along the ground.
A play that enables a batter to hit the ball and run or walk safely to a base.
The base where the batter bats. It is the last base that a batter must reach to score a run.
A play which enables the batter and any runners on base to make it safely back to the Home Plate.
The team on whose field the game is played.
A 90 ft. square outlined in the shape of a diamond and bordered by 4 bases (first base, second base, third base, and Home Plate).
A player (usually the first baseman, second baseman, third baseman, or shortstop) who occupies a position in the infield.
A period of play during a game. There are 9 innings in a game. Each team's time at bat is a half-inning.
